The National Assembly approves the appointment of 6 Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and members of the Government

(L&D) - With 100% of the attending deputies in favor, the National Assembly voted to adopt resolutions approving the appointment of 6 Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and members of the Government for the 2026–2031 term.
Continuing the program of the 1st Session of the 16th National Assembly, on the morning of April 8, the National Assembly held a closed session, during which Prime Minister Le Minh Hung presented the Submission on the number and composition of Government members, and the Submission on the list of nominees for National Assembly approval of the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other Government members.
The National Assembly then discussed and voted to approve the structure and number of Government members, as well as to approve the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other Government members. The result showed that 493 out of 493 deputies present voted in favor (equivalent to 100% of attending deputies and 98.60% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
After hearing Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee Le Quang Manh present the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the structure and number of Government members of the 16th National Assembly term, the National Assembly adopted the Resolution through electronic voting.
The result showed that 489 out of 489 deputies present voted in favor (equivalent to 100% of attending deputies and 97.80% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
Next, the National Assembly proceeded to vote on the approval of the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, Ministers, and other Government members.
After hearing Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee Le Quang Manh present the draft Resolution of the National Assembly on the approval of the Prime Minister’s proposal regarding the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers, as well as the appointment of Ministers and other Government members, the National Assembly adopted the Resolution approving the Prime Minister’s proposal on the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026–2031 term.
The result showed that 485 deputies participated in the vote (equivalent to 97% of the total number of deputies), of whom 484 voted in favor (equivalent to 96.30% of the total number of deputies), and 1 deputy did not vote (equivalent to 0.20% of the total number of deputies).
Accordingly, the list of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2026–2031 term includes: Pham Gia Tuc; Phan Van Giang; Pham Thi Thanh Tra; Ho Quoc Dung; Nguyen Van Thang; Le Tien Chau.

The National Assembly adopted a Resolution approving the Prime Minister’s proposal on the appointment of Ministers and other members of the Government for the 2026–2031 term.
The result showed that 481 out of 481 deputies present voted in favor (equivalent to 100% of attending deputies and 96.20% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
Accordingly, the list of Ministers and other members of the Government for the 2026–2031 term includes: Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Do Thanh Binh, Minister of Home Affairs; Hoang Thanh Tung, Minister of Justice; Ngo Van Tuan, Minister of Finance; Le Manh Hung, Minister of Industry and Trade; Trinh Viet Hung, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction; Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology; Hoang Minh Son, Minister of Education and Training; Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health; Nguyen Dinh Khang, Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs; Pham Duc An, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Nguyen Quoc Doan, Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate; Dang Xuan Phong, Minister, Chairman of the Government Office.
Also on the morning of April 8, the National Assembly heard Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan present the Submission of the President on the list of nominees for National Assembly approval of the Vice Chairperson and members of the National Defence and Security Council.
The National Assembly also heard Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee Le Quang Manh present the draft Resolution approving the President’s proposal on the list of Vice Chairperson and members of the National Defence and Security Council.
The National Assembly then adopted the Resolution through electronic voting. The result showed that 480 out of 480 deputies present voted in favor (equivalent to 100% of attending deputies and 96% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
Accordingly, Le Minh Hung, Prime Minister, serves as Vice Chairperson of the National Defence and Security Council. The following individuals are members of the National Defence and Security Council: Tran Thanh Man, National Assembly Chairman; Phan Van Giang, Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The National Assembly also adopted a Resolution approving the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court’s proposal on the appointment of Supreme People’s Court Judges. The result showed that 488 out of 488 deputies present voted in favor (equivalent to 100% of attending deputies and 97.60% of the total number of National Assembly deputies).
(L&D) - The National Assembly has decided to abolish the fixed taxable revenue threshold of 500 million VND/year, delegating to the Government the authority to set an appropriate threshold, with an expected increase to 1 billion VND/year. This is not merely a technical tax adjustment, but also a major reform step aimed at supporting the household economy to develop legitimately, transparently, and sustainably.
