(L&D) On November 11, the Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid (Ministry of Justice), in coordination with the State Legal Aid Center of Thanh Hoa Province, organized a training conference to enhance knowledge about legal aid for village elders, village heads, reputable community members, local residents, and related organizations and individuals in three communes: Van Xuan, Luong Xuan, and Linh Son (Thanh Hoa Province).
This activity was carried out within the framework of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction for the 2021–2025 period. It aims to help village elders, village heads, reputable community members, local residents, and related organizations and individuals access information about legal aid, their right to receive legal aid, and the use of legal aid services when needed.
Participants in the conference included officials from the Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid; representatives of the State Legal Aid Center of Thanh Hoa Province; representatives of local authorities; lecturers with practical experience in the field of legal aid; as well as village elders, village heads, reputable community members, local residents, and related organizations and individuals.
During the conferences, the lecturers integrated real-life situations, shared exemplary results of legal aid activities, and addressed practical questions arising in the implementation of legal aid, thereby helping participants to better absorb and apply the knowledge in their daily lives.

In particular, various vivid and interactive communication methods such as documentary screenings, legal storytelling, and direct exchanges between lecturers and participants were flexibly combined. Attention was also given to learning about local customs, traditions, and cultural characteristics to select appropriate approaches, ensuring both familiarity and effectiveness in legal dissemination activities.
At the conference, delegates from communes directly exchanged with the lecturers about difficulties and obstacles in providing legal aid, knowledge of legal aid, and their ability to convey and advise local residents to improve effectiveness and thereby reduce unnecessary disputes and legal violations.
The trained delegates are expected to become effective bridges between legal institutions and the community, helping all citizens - especially those in remote and mountainous areas - take the initiative in learning about and using legal aid services when needed. Understanding the law is not only a right but also a responsibility that helps protect one’s legitimate rights and contributes to building a just and civilized community.
This training activity holds particular significance in promoting the role of village elders, village heads, and reputable community members. These individuals often serve as role models and influential figures in encouraging, persuading, and spreading legal awareness to every household and every village.
