Chairman of Hung Yen Province appointed as Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee

(L&D) - Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Chairman of the Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee, has been assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee, and to assume the position of Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.

The decision was announced by the Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission on the morning of November 11 at the headquarters of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee. Mr. Nguyen Khac Than will replace his predecessor, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung, who has been transferred to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Than was born on March 15, 1974, in Phu Duc Commune, Hung Yen Province. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law, a College degree in Procuracy, and a Master's degree in Economic Management. His political theory qualification is of the Advanced level.
Before March 2016, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than held various positions including: Deputy Head of the People’s Procuracy; Head of the Division of Natural Resources and Environment; Head of the Organization Commission; Vice Chairman and Chairman of the District People’s Committee; Secretary of the District Party Committee; and Chairman of the People’s Council of Quynh Phu District, Thai Binh Province.
From March 2016 to July 2019, he served as Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Thai Binh Province.
From August 2019 to October 2020, he held the positions of Vice Chairman and Standing Vice Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People’s Committee for the 2016–2021 term.
From October 2020 to November 2020, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman in charge of the operation of the Thai Binh Provincial People’s Committee.
From November 2020 to December 2024, he was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.
From December 2024 to January 2025, he held the positions of Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thai Binh Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.
From January 2025 to June 2025, he served as Secretary of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee.
From July 2025 to November 2025, he was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the newly restructured Hung Yen Provincial People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.
In November 2025, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than was assigned and appointed by the Politburo as Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee.
In his remarks upon assuming the new position, Mr. Nguyen Khac Than stated that Nghe An is a large province with a high population, a rich revolutionary tradition, and the homeland of President Ho Chi Minh. He expressed, “From today, in addition to Hung Yen - my birthplace and hometown - I respectfully ask the Party organization, government, and people of Nghe An to allow me to be considered a son of this province, and to regard it as my second home.”
The new Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee pledged to devote his utmost dedication and effort to his work, to uphold the Party’s leadership principles, and to set an example of pioneering spirit and integrity. He affirmed his commitment to working with the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee in unity and innovation, determined to effectively achieve the goals and tasks set by the province.

(L&D) - The Politburo has announced the decision to transfer and assign Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc – Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission – to serve as Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.
(L&D) - During the 10th session of the National Assembly, delegates pointed out the shortcomings of the current legal framework and reached a consensus on the urgent need to legislate the responsibilities of e-commerce platform owners to protect consumers as well as to ensure market transparency.
(L&D) - On the morning of November 4, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a thematic Government meeting focusing on discussing key decrees aimed at implementing Resolution No. 222/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on the International Financial Centre (IFC) in Viet Nam.
The expert argue that priority should be given to investing in key sectors, particularly in technology, to create the momentum for double-digit growth in the upcoming period.
(L&D) – With a strong determination to make Vietnam a leading financial destination in the region, the Government is urgently completing the final procedures for the Vietnam International Financial Center to officially commence operations as early as November this year. This is considered a strategic step to elevate the nation’s position, promote investment capital inflows, and deepen integration with the global financial market.
(L&D) - On October 29 in Ha Noi, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in coordination with the Party Cell of the Vietnam Bar Federation, held a conference to solicit opinions on the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
(L&D) - The draft Law on Extradition, currently under consideration by the National Assembly at the 10th session of the 15th legislature, not only fills the existing legal gap but also reflects the strategic vision of the Party and the State in safeguarding national sovereignty, ensuring human rights, and enhancing Viet Nam’s international standing.
