On the morning of January 23, at the Headquarters of the Party Central Committee, the Central Committee of the Party for the 14th term convened its First Conference to decide on matters of special importance, marking the beginning of a new term.
Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party for the 13th term and convener of the Conference, delivered the opening speech and, on behalf of the Conference Presidium, presided over the Conference agenda.
On the basis of strict compliance with the Party Charter, working regulations, electoral regulations, and related contents, fully promoting the spirit of unity and responsibility, and effectively implementing the principle of democratic centralism, the First Conference of the Central Committee of the Party for the 14th term completed the following matters of special importance:
(1) Election of the Politburo.
(2) Election of the General Secretary.
(3) Election of the Secretariat.
(4) Hearing the report on the plan for key leadership positions of the Party and the State and giving opinions on personnel for the position of Standing Member of the Secretariat.
(5) Election of the Central Inspection Commission.
(6) Election of the Chairperson of the Central Inspection Commission.
The Central Committee of the Party for the 14th term unanimously agreed to elect Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party for the 13th term, to continue holding the position of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party for the 14th term.
