(L&D) In order to expand public access to legal aid services, the Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid (Ministry of Justice) has launched a free legal aid hotline.

The legal aid hotline has been established within the framework of the Project "Strengthening legal aid for the poor and vulnerable groups", funded by the World Bank through the Japan Social Development Fund (JSDP). It purposes is to receive and provide information on legal aid nationwide, and to enhance public access to legal aid services, particularly for those entitled to free legal aid under the law.

According to the Department of Legal Dissemination, Education and Legal Aid, the operation of the hotline is one of the important steps in the digital transformation of the justice sector, aiming to ensure that all citizens can access justice in a fair, transparent, and more convenient manner.

Scope of operation: Receiving and providing information on legal aid nationwide; pilot decentralized implementation in Dien Bien and Lao Cai provinces.
