Ho Chi Minh City Police Launch Intensive Campaign to Suppress Crime and Ensure Public Security and Order

On the morning of August 1, the Ho Chi Minh City Police organized a ceremony to launch an intensive campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensuring public security and order in celebration of the Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, as well as the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security.
Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, presided over the ceremony.
Attending the ceremony were: Member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Tho; along with representatives of leaders of municipal departments, agencies, and sectors, as well as the Board of Directors and commanding officers of the municipal police units.

The intensive campaign will run until September 15. The Ho Chi Minh City Police will implement key and focused measures, mobilize all resources and methods, and strive to achieve and surpass the set campaign targets. In particular, a comprehensive and synchronous deployment of measures will be carried out to grasp the situation early, from afar, and from the grassroots level; proactively identify complex issues concerning political security and grassroots security in order to promptly adopt effective solutions, ensuring that no passivity or surprise arises in any circumstances.
The police force will perform effectively the functions of state management over public security and order, with a focus on residence management and management of business sectors subject to conditions relating to security and order; and will strive to complete ahead of schedule the 50-day-and-night campaign of issuing electronic identification accounts for foreigners.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, emphasized that this intensive campaign constitutes an important preparatory step in terms of security and order to serve the Party Congresses at all levels and the major national holidays.
“The municipal police force demonstrates the highest determination, mobilizing all resources to attack and suppress all types of crimes, particularly organized crime, drug-related crime, usury (‘black credit’), and cybercrime, thereby contributing to the preservation of the city’s peace and stability,” the Director General of the Ho Chi Minh City Police underscored.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Van Tho, acknowledged and commended the fighting spirit and the dedication to protecting the people demonstrated by the entire municipal police force. At the same time, he requested that all levels and sectors closely coordinate with the municipal police in implementing preventive measures and in effectively combating crimes and violations of law.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the functional forces simultaneously organized parades and patrols on central routes of Ho Chi Minh City, creating a vibrant atmosphere and demonstrating the determination to achieve victory in the intensive campaign.
(L&D) - The Politburo has reassigned and designated Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, to join the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, and to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. The Hanoi People’s Council has also elected Mr. Vu Dai Thang as Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee for the 2021–2026 term.

(L&D) - The Department of Legal Dissemination, Education, and Legal Aid (Ministry of Justice), in coordination with the Dak Lak Department of Justice, organized a training course on “Enhancing the Capacity of Grassroots Mediators,” aiming to build a cohesive community with respect for the rule of law.
(L&D) - With the objective of bringing the law closer to the people, especially those living in remote and isolated areas, Thanh Hoa has been actively implementing free legal aid activities, helping local residents understand their rights, grasp the procedures for accessing legal services, and become more confident in protecting their lawful rights and interests.
(L&D) - On the morning of October 31, in Hanoi, the Youth Union of the Central Agency of the Vietnam Lawyers Association, in coordination with the Center for Legal and Policy Consulting on Health and HIV/AIDS, and with the support of the Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control Fund under the Ministry of Health, organized the launching ceremony of the writing contest entitled “Understanding the Law on Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control” in order to spread the message “For the Health of the Community – Say No to Tobacco.”
