Officials and Japanese Friends Impressed by Vietnam National Day at World EXPO Osaka

This is one of Vietnam’s key and exemplary activities at EXPO 2025, contributing to the promotion of the country’s image, people, and culture to the world, reflecting national identity, cultural values, developmental achievements, and future orientations.
The official ceremony of the event was attended by a high-level delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and notably Princess Tsuguko, representing the Japanese Imperial Family.

On behalf of the Japanese government, State Minister Koga Yuichiro warmly congratulated the Vietnam National Day celebration, sincerely thanked Vietnam for participating in EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, and expressed confidence that Vietnam’s message and appeal would be further disseminated throughout Japan and the world via the Vietnam Pavilion.

At the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Japan Nukaga Fukushiro congratulated Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th National Day anniversary and the success of Vietnam National Day. He shared that Japanese and international visitors were deeply impressed by Vietnam National Day, especially the outstanding artistic program presented at the event, which harmoniously combined the rich cultural identity of Vietnam with modern global culture.
Former Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship League; Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa; and Minister of Justice Suzuki Keisuke congratulated the successful organization of Vietnam National Day at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai. They noted that the event was highly appreciated by the Japanese people and regarded as a valuable opportunity to promote Vietnam’s image to Japanese friends and international visitors.
With the theme "A Comprehensive, People-Centered Society," after more than four months of operation, the Vietnam Pavilion has welcomed approximately 700,000 visitors, including a record high of 12,578 visitors in a single day.
The pavilion is divided into three main zones (traditional, modern, and future), utilizing modern exhibition language and integrated technology to convey proud stories about Vietnam to international friends; promoting Vietnam as a development model harmonizing sustainable economy with culture, associated with progress, social equity, and environmental protection.
After more than four months of operation, the Vietnam Pavilion has welcomed approximately 700,000 visitors, including a record high of 12,578 visitors in a single day.
One of the highlights of the Vietnam Pavilion is the traditional water puppet and music performances, held regularly with four shows per day. In addition, there are various performances on outdoor stages at different locations within the EXPO Osaka 2025 site, as well as exchange programs with several other pavilions from the United States, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Thailand, and more.
In addition to the regular exhibitions, our pavilion also collaborates with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and local authorities to organize events promoting the country and its people, showcasing the potential of provinces and cities, and enhancing cooperation and investment opportunities between Vietnamese and international businesses.
Vietnam’s activities at EXPO Osaka 2025 have attracted attention from both domestic and international media, including major Japanese outlets such as Asahi and NHK.
The Vietnam Pavilion has been continuously featured across social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Numerous key opinion leaders (KOLs) have visited to film and introduce the pavilion, including Japanese YouTuber Issei, who has nearly 70 million subscribers.
EXPO Osaka 2025 takes place from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on Yumeshima Island, Osaka Prefecture. With the theme "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," the expo serves as an opportunity for countries to raise collective awareness and enhance cooperation in achieving the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as to build models for future human living. The venue and activities at EXPO Osaka 2025 are organized around three sub-themes: Saving Lives, Empowering Lives, and Connecting Lives.
To date, EXPO Osaka 2025 has attracted nearly 170 countries and international organizations, with an expected attendance of 28.2 million visitors.
